Movie Star, Ashley Johnson, May Have Us On Her Resume

As a Child Star, She Gained Early Modeling Experience with Stahls’

By Elaine Sables

Before playing the role of Chrissy Seaver and working along side celebrities like Alan Thicke, Kirk Cameron and Leonardo DiCaprio in the TV series Growing Pains, Ashley Johnson was a model for Stahls’ advertisements. At an early age while living in Michigan, Ashley was hired to model pre-cut lettering combined with other mixed media on apparel. In the photo, she is shown wearing a yacht club outfit with Stahls’ Cooper font style.

Years later, Ashley played the role of Mel Gibson’s daughter in the movie What Women Want. She’s also the voice of Emily in the animated series of King of the Hill, has appeared in the hit FOX series Lie to Me, and recently completed production on the upcoming movie Alleged in which she has a leading role and was filmed at Crossroads Village here in Flint, Michigan.

Back in the ‘80s, it was exciting for Stahls’ staffers and dealers to see a celebrity in our literature and advertising pieces. This summer, we are deep into our photo shoots for our exciting 2011 catalogs and have an amazing amount of mixed media ideas and images to inspire you, your customers, and to help increase your sales.

Photo shoots are complex in preparation and models play an integral role. Of all the preparation involved, model selection is probably the most fun project to work on.  We are impressed with some of the resumes these talents come with and where their futures are headed. With the state of Michigan on the film production and talent rise, celebrity sightings, experiences and stories are talk of the town!  As we complete production of our summer photo shoot, stay tuned to the next rising star we have to share with you!
