Stahls’ ID Direct™ and Stahls’ Transfer Express® are happy to announce that the winner of the Summer of Bling design contest is Kim Stroud from Up the Junktion in Barnesville, GA!
Her design garnered the highest number of votes by fans of the Stahls’ – All Things Heat Printing Facebook page for having the most creative CAD-CUT® Glitter Flake™ design. She has won a rhinestone-covered Stahls’ Hotronix® 16 by 20-inch Auto Open Clam heat press on a Stahls’ Hotronix Heat Press Caddie™ stand.
Stroud’s award-winning, three-color Glitter Flake tiger was made by separating her vector artwork file into three colors. Each file was cut separately in CAD-CUT Glitter Flake and then carefully put together like a jigsaw puzzle. Using her heat press, she applied the first two colors for three seconds then added the third and final color, pressing for 15 seconds.
Kim is the owner of Up the Junktion, a custom design business, which offers T-shirts, onesies, and other items. She said she used to use mostly Fashion-FILM® but a friend introduced her to Stahls’ Glitter Flake and said, “You have to try it!” So Kim ordered three yards in black, silver and red. She was a little hesitant at first but quickly found out what a hit it is. Her customers loved it, so she ordered “loads of glitter”. Kim now has a nice collection of colors and uses it on most of her designs, saying she just loves Glitter Flake.
The Summer of Bling contest was held June 1 through July 31, offering decorators the opportunity to win big “bling” by submitting a photo of their original design made with Stahls’ Glitter Flake heat transfer material. Eighty contest entries show a broad array of the many ways designers are using Stahls’ Glitter Flake.
