Who said hockey is a cold-weather sport? On February 21, the Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks will meet in an outdoor game at Levi’s Stadium (home of the NFL’s 49ers) in Santa Clara, CA. This will be the fifth installment in the NHL’s Stadium Series of outdoor games, following games last season in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago.

As with past outdoor games, the participating teams have unveiled new uniform designs for the special event. And as with past uniforms, officially licensed NHL®/NHLPA® player name and number kits are available from Stahls’.

Each of the new jerseys mixes an old-time feel with modern design. The Kings’ tri-color look features a gray upper chest, shoulders, and upper sleeves separated from a white bottom portion with a black stripe. Two crowns are placed on the left collar to signify the team’s two Stanley Cups.  The edgiest part of the uniform’s design, though, are the white pants, last seen in the NHL with the 1974-75 Washington Capitals.

The Sharks also feature a tri-color jersey, with black on the lower part, teal on the upper, and a white stripe in the middle. The team’s orange accents also make an appearance on the collar.

You can customize these jerseys with NHL player kits, available for every player on each team, or with personalized NHL jersey kits. Both kits contain the player name and number, as well as sleeve numbers, captain’s “C” or alternate’s “A” (if applicable), and a hang tag. The letters and numbers can be tacked into place with a heat press, but must be sewn for permanent application.

So, as hockey heats up this February, you can give your customers the sweaters they want.

  1. Hi there!

I’m thinking about sending my “on ice” San Jose Sharks stadium series jersey to get customized. Would you guys be able to sew on the exact kit that was used on the players jerseys? If so, how much would it cost? I appreciate your time!

    Thanks,
    Nathan

  2. Hi Nathan,

Stahls’ sells NHL® jersey kits wholesale, and doesn’t decorate individual pieces. Try taking your jersey to a local sporting goods shop, or business that decorates jerseys for school and kids’ sports. If the shop owner isn’t sure how to get a kit for the Stadium Series jersey, you could always point them to Stahls’ kits!
