Back To School Heat Printing

Back to school time means it’s time to get your heat press fired up and ready for the heat printing orders that will undoubtedly be ramping up. Make sure you’re ready to hit the ground running with these tips.

To start, it’s important to give your heat press maintenance a couple times a year, the back to school season with its rush of fall sports and spirit wear orders is a great time to do this. Here are 6 Tips to Help Keep Your Heat Press in Shape.

The heat press test kit will also help you make sure your heat press is ready for the busy season. It measures the temperature of different spots on your upper platen for inconsistencies.

Look at orders from past seasons and make sure you have packs and kits of pre-cut letters and numbers to match your expected order volume. Even if you’re planning on using pre-spaced text and number options, individual letters and numbers will be useful for smaller orders and last-minute additions.

Your vinyl cutter or print/cut system should also get some maintenance. Do you need new blades? This is a good time to stock up on new blades with our blade packages. Make sure the cutter protection strip is in good condition? In the middle of an important order is no time to realize equipment needs maintenance.

Check the condition of your heat printing accessories. Do you have cover sheets, heat printing pads, and pillows and heat erasers? Are they all in good shape? What about weeders, tape, tweezers, and layout boards? Make sure you have everything you’ll need to provide your customers with the best product possible. Make sure your heat transfer material samples and swatches are up to date. New materials and colors are always being introduced, make sure you have the most up to date information for your customers. Are your in-store samples starting to show the signs of age? Are they keeping up with the latest trends? Think about replacing them or adding new ones.
