Five Ways to Shine This Holiday Season

by Jodi Weiler, Customer Service

The holiday season is here and with it comes the ring-a-ding-ding of silver sleigh bells and presents wrapped in red, green and gold. Why not add some extra shine to your pocketbook this season and add foil to your garments? Martin Borley from Target Transfers in the UK and Josh Ellsworth from Stahls’ CAD-CUT® Direct rode their sleighs into the SGIA Expo to show you five ways to fire up your sales this holiday season using your Hotronix® heat press and transfer foil.

The most conventional method for using heat transfer foil on garments is traditional screen printing which is great for large runs. What do you do when you only have a medium run, let’s say 12-24 pieces and it’s not really worth it to set up your screens? You can order screen printed transfers from Transfer Express and let us do all the work for you. No muss, no fuss. Simply heat apply the transfer with your heat press and then re-press using the transfer foil over top. Voila!  All that glitters IS gold!

Another option is cutting  Thermo-Adhesive ™ with a vinyl cutter, applying your weeded design to the garment and foiling. This is great for your customer who only wants one or two pieces or for personalizing a set of garments.

We also offer metallic heat transfer vinyl, which is foil already laminated to an adhesive for a one step process in several solid colors and also hologram for added dimensionality.

Do you want to have your laser printer do more for you than print documents?  ExactPrint ™ laser transfer paper allows you to print highly detailed designs with your laser printer with no weeding or trimming. Guess what? You guessed it! We show you how you can use foil with that, too. So check out the video and let Josh and Martin show you how adding foil to your garments, using a variety of techniques and finishes can create unique, high end designs to your garment offering and stack those silver dollars in your wallet!
