Baseball season is officially upon us and teams are already wearing alternate and special jerseys on the field.  On April 26 the Atlanta Braves will wear their new Military Appreciation Jersey for the first time.

The red jersey features blue and white piping and the Braves’ script logo filled with a field of blue with white stars.  The patriotic theme is carried over onto the left sleeve with an American flag patch.

The Braves will wear the jerseys five times this season – once for a military family night, then once each for special Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines nights.  After each game the jerseys will be auctioned online with proceeds being donated to various military charities, including the USO and the Wounded Warrior Project.

You can achieve similar looks for your customers’ jerseys and fanwear a number of ways.

Stahls’ Any Word. Any Way.™ custom lettering designer offers filled script (or block) text in sew and no-sew options.  Sublimated Twill Appliqué applies with a heat press and can be sewn for a more traditional embroidered look. Sublimated SimStitch® is also applied with a heat press but is laser cut with a simulated zig-zag stitch, giving it the look of embroidery without the sewing.  Both are available with a variety of fill effects, from animal prints to camouflage to plaid, and more.

CAD-PRINTZ® full color digital transfer text effects and number effects also allow you to fill block text with camouflage, animal prints, polka dots, etc.  There are no per-color fees and designs apply easily with a heat press.

If you’d like to create your own fill effects using a print/cut system, CAD-COLOR® printable heat transfer materials are an excellent choice.

And the new kids on the block, Stahls’ TEK™ printable heat transfer materials, are specifically designed for sportswear and performance apparel. Lightweight and stretchable with incredible rebound, TEK materials will apply to virtually any fabric. If you’re printing designs for application to sublimated garments, SuperTEK™ Sublistop™ is the material for you. Its ONYX STiX2™ adhesive features a charcoal-based lining which inhibits bleed-through from sublimated dyes.

And let’s not forget the flag patch on the sleeve. American and Canadian flag patches, as well as other designs like scrambled eggs and stop signs, are available from Stahls’. These embroidered patches are backed with a permanent adhesive, meaning you can apply them with your heat press and achieve the look of direct embroidery without the sewing.

Whatever decorating trends your customers decide to follow, you can find convenient decorating solutions with Stahls’.
