With the Right Tools, You Can Heat Print Anything

Print Perfect Pads provide even pressure to the printing area.

Print Perfect Pads create a flat, even surface for equal temperature and pressure throughout the heat transfer. They’re helpful when you’re heat applying on those ever-so-popular items that include buttons, heavy seams, and zippers!

Here are some of the ways I use them when heat printing:

If you have ever decorated fleece with a heat press, you know the nap on the material gets flattened where the heat press touches. I use Print Perfect Pads to raise the garment only in the area I am pressing so the rest of the substrate stays plush.

The 3.5″ x 15″ Print Perfect Pad works great for straight player names across the back of jerseys with heavy seams. Plus, it’s only one inch shorter than the width of my heat press (a 16″ x 16″ Hotronix® Auto Clam).  If you are heat applying on T-shirt sleeves, you can insert each end of the pad into a sleeve and heat apply two at once.

For other projects, I actually cut a 3.5″ x 15″ pad into 3 sections. I can use 1 or 2 stacked on the platen of a cap press for the hats that just don’t fit snug enough.

The 5″ x 6″ Print Perfect Pad fits the center chest and pockets of an apron nicely and helps the vinyl heat apply evenly around the heavy seam or apron string.

Heat pressing sweatshirt hoods can be tricky.  You can use the 5″ x 6″ pad towards the bottom corner of the heat press, or even stack two pads for those extra-thick hoods. You can also use it (or an 8″ x 10″ pad) in the front pocket of a hooded sweatshirt.
