One popular item I have seen around all college campuses is the spirit jersey.
WHAT ARE SPIRIT JERSEYS?
They are heavier long sleeve shirts with words heat pressed onto the back across the shoulder blades. Also known as “billboard crews,” the majority of spirit jerseys have left chest logos or artwork.
What are Spirit Jerseys good for? :
• Resorts/ souvenir shops
• Schools
• Teams
• Special Occasions like weddings, bachelorette parties, etc.
These are only a couple examples of what spirit jersey can be used for. They are popular mostly among women although I have seen men wear them as well. I personally own 2 and still want more. They are light and comfy and great for wearing to class.
You can use pre-cut letters and numbers to decorate these shirts, or cut your own CAD-CUT® heat transfer materials with a vinyl cutter.

The billboard crews (or spirit jerseys) you see in our Stahls’ TV video came from Pennant Sportswear.
Sharon also Soffe carries different versions of the shirt and J. America carries the “official” or “original” spirit shirt as well.
What is the puffy vinyl called that is used on the jersies?

There are puffy heat transfer vinyls that will help you achieve a 3D, textured look. Stahls’ CAD-CUT® Pebble Puff™, for example, is currently available at clearance prices in select colors.
What size lettering is used to go across the shoulder area?

Sizing would ultimately depend on the garment you’re decorating and the word you’re using, but 4″ letters will typically do the trick. If you’re cutting your own designs, you can find shoulder-to-shoulder templates in CadworxLIVE® online design software, which is free to all Stahls’ customers. When starting a new design, pick “Templates,” then choose the “Shoulder2shoulder” folder to see the templates available.
