Putting on the Foil

by Matt DeLaere, Marketing

In the movie Slapshot, the Hanson brothers give themselves an edge in their inevitable fights by wrapping their knuckles in tin foil and athletic tape. Strange as it may seem, Jack, Steve, and Jeff may be on to something – “putting on the foil” can be as beneficial to heat printers as it is to hockey goons.

No, I’m not suggesting that you tape your hands before heat printing, but you can add quite a bit of punch to designs with heat transfer foil. It’s quick and easy to apply and is a great way to add a colorful metallic sheen to spirit wear, fan wear, fashion garments, and promotional clothing.

Stahls.com and Stahls.ca now carry heat transfer foil in over 15 colors, including patterns like Pink Zebra, Leopard, and Rainbow. And with CAD-CUT® Adhesive, it’s easier than ever to create durable foil designs using your vinyl cutter and a heat press. There’s no need for burning screens or applying messy inks – just cut and weed your design, apply it to a shirt or other item, then apply the foil.

Foils are permanently bonded to CAD-CUT Adhesive, creating the best results possible and long-lasting designs. And because you cut it on your vinyl cutter, Adhesive allows for finely-detailed designs and the use of heat transfer foil as an accent in multi-media applications.

Now when customers ask what you’re doing to make those awesome metallic designs, all you have to say is, “Putting on the foil….You want some?”
