Like many of the founding fathers, Washington was a renaissance man. In addition to being the first President of the republic, he was a general, a farmer, a distiller, and, if the picture to the left is to be believed (and it shouldn’t be), a heat printer. As you can see in the portrait, the work in those days was hard, as the Heat Press Caddie™ and its exclusive Threadability™ had not yet been invented.
Because of the many hardships through which he led the nation, though, there is much to learn from Washington and his legacy, and a great deal of it can be applied to your heat printing business, as well as your personal life. Here are some quotes from the first President that, almost 214 years after his death, still inspire.
“Perseverance and spirit have done wonders in all ages.”
“We should not look back unless it is to derive useful lessons from past errors, and for the purpose of profiting by dearly bought experience.”
“Make sure you are doing what God wants you to do–then do it with all your strength.”
“I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.”
“Happiness depends more upon the internal frame of a person’s own mind, than on the externals in the world.”
