Serve…Set…Spike Your Competition With Heat Printing Volleyball Uniforms
Volleyball continues to grow in popularity and ranks second with more than 480,000 participants in girl’s high school sports and is 5th in the world! It is also estimated that families spend $2,600 – $5,100 for one season, depending on their team’s level. This would include fees for tournaments, club/organizations, equipment, uniforms, practice time, and camps/clinics.
Why should you “spike” into volleyball…it can provide you with many opportunities for uniforms, spirit wear and fan wear as they tend to participate in many tournaments throughout a season. Staying up to date on uniform trends and using the right heat transfer materials will “set” you up for success.
Uniforms for volleyball tend to be light weight performance fabric with stretch properties or sublimated with patterns. With these fabrics it is important that you have confidence in the heat transfer materials that you will be applying as scorching and migration are the nemesis with these uniform types. You will want to be able to apply at a low temperature and the material to have a soft hand, stretch and rebound and the ability to block dye migration.
Uniforms/Heat Transfer Material
Your “hitter” to defeat these potential uniform decorating issues is AquaTru™ Dye-Block™ Numbers. AquaTru™ allows you to decorate the most dye saturated, stretchy, and heat-sensitive uniforms with confidence. Blocks dye migration, applies at a low temperature, lightweight and matte finish. Numbers are centrally positioned on the carrier for easy registration when creating 2-digit number combinations; align carrier edges together for perfect spacing.
When decorating onto uniforms where migration is not a concern, Premium Plus™ is suggested, as it is lightweight with stretch and recovery properties.
Spirit Wear & Fan Wear/Heat Transfer Material
Premium Plus™ will also provide the athletes with the look they want off the court and for the fans cheering them on it. Premium Plus has a low temperature application, soft hand, matte finish, stretchability and can be applied to a variety of substrates. Additionally, it is available in over 40 team colors and can be layered for 2-color applications which is great for creating unique finishes.
In addition to migration, scorching is your other area to combat against. For this reason, the Hotronix® Heated Lower Heat Press Platen was developed. This will reduce the risk of scorching which is common with volleyball uniforms as they are made of polyester and you also have the risk of migration.
