   The Toronto Customer Appreciation Event

by Dale Mouscos, Stahls’ Canada

June 12th

The Toronto Customer Appreciation Event was still part of the tour but was organized quite differently.  We brought in several of our top executives and experts in the different aspects involved in heat printing.  Stahls’ Canada General Manager Rob Gardiner opened up with thanking everyone for taking the time to come out and introduced our first guest speaker, Brian Sukarukoff, the CEO of GroupeSTAHL .  Brian explained who we are and why we do what we do.  This was an important presentation which was very well received by the attendees.

Next we had Don Ross, who is the National Sales Manager for Roland®.  As many of you know, Roland is the manufacturer of several print/cut systems offered through Stahls’ DMS.  Don went on to discuss the print/cut line of products that are currently available as well as the features and benefits of each.

Ben Robinson holds forth on heat presses.

With a slight revision in our schedule, we were delighted to welcome our very own Ben Robinson, the General Manager of Stahls’ Hotronix®.  Ben revealed our newest products, including the Table Top Air Fusion™ heat press and the Heat Press CounterCaddie®, which is set to be released by month-end.  He also demonstrated the benefits of each heat press in the Hotronix and MAXX® equipment lineups. Many of our customers were fascinated with the demonstrations and ease of use presented and asked several questions for which Ben had all the answers.  It was great to have the foremost expert in heat printing equipment present at our show.  Thanks for coming out, Ben!

Josh Ellsworth and several of his heat press friends.

Josh Ellsworth, the General Manager and Apparel Customization Expert for Stahls’ CAD-CUT® Direct, was up next.  He conducted live demonstrations of the hottest trends in customization.  This included mixed media application and decoration of garments including shoes using the new Hotronix shoe platen.  Josh was presented with many questions by an intrigued and attentive audience, but was readily prepared to answer all of them in detail.

After Josh came Sean Oakley, former General Manager of Stahls’ Canada and current General Manager for our sister division, Stahls’ Transfer Express®.  Sean introduced Transfer Express’ screen printed transfers as the substitute for direct screen printing in the industry and talked about the ease of ordering from Canada.  With their extensive customer support, they’re readily available to place orders and answer any questions that you may have.  Sean then introduced Chris Ulrich, the Business Development Manager for Transfer Express, who went on to demonstrate just how easy it is to use their products and what you will receive each and every time you order.   Transfer Express is currently offering $10 Ground Shipping to Canadian customers.

Dane Clement and Brian Sukarukoff at the Toronto Customer Appreciation Event.

Last but not least, we had the pleasure of introducing the expert in artwork, Dane Clement, the president of Great Dane Graphics, a GroupeSTAHL Company.  Dane shared some valuable tools of the trade including artwork for specific applications, how to deal with raster images, and more using Corel®, Adobe Illustrator®, and Photoshop®.  These step-by-step instructions were great for beginners and helpful for more advanced users as they referred to common issues that occur for most of us. Dane has also published a series of educational tutorials that take you through everything that you would need to know about preparing and using artwork to decorate garments, promotional items, hats, bags and more!

We are always happy to educate and provide recommendations to make your business grow.  After all, we are the experts in heat printing and the industry leaders for garment decoration.
